VFW Post 837 was established on 18 December 1972. Our mission is to foster camaraderie among our United States Veterans of overseas conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military, and our communities. We advocate on behalf of all veterans, their families, and survivors.
VFW Post 837 Host charitable bingo two nights a week, Sunday at 2pm and Friday at 6:15pm. The Post raises over $7,000 quarterly during Charitable bingo which is donated to different veteran programs, community programs, and charitable organizations.
Any Veteran is eligible to compete in the Veterans pool league of San Antonio. VFW post 837 pool league competes against seven other VFW's teams and one American Legion team. If you are interested in joining our pool league, please give us a call.
VFW Post 837 gives back to veterans and the surrounding community. We support Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville Texas, National Home for children, Texas VFW foundation, San Antonio Purple Heart Association, Blue Knights, San Antonio Food Bank, Four local High School JROTC programs, Middle and Elementary Schools.
The VFW Buddy Poppy program provides compensation to the veterans who assemble the poppies, provides financial assistance in maintaining state and national veterans' rehabilitation and service programs and partially supports the VFW National Home For Children.
VFW Post 837 offers more than membership, we offer family. We understand the need of a strong commitment to our Veterans, as well as their families. Our Post is a smoke free facility in order to allow all Vets a chance enjoy the camaraderie. As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.
VFW Post 837 Hall is available for Birthdays, Quinceaneras, Sweet 16's, or other parties. We can comfortably seat 95 people. Please come in or inquire at 210-337-8893
